Today’s Wordle Answer #248: Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2022
Good day, Wordlers! If you need a hint for today’s Wordle solution, think of a Poison song about a certain sort of flower—and one specific feature that each of these flowers has. Today’s Wordle starting wordfor us was “MOIST.” (We’re sorry if that makes you uncomfortable. We understand!) Remember when a bunch of Wordle players used it as their starting word and got it in their single try? We knew it wouldn’t happen again, but we also know it has a lot of great letters: S, T, and M, plus two vowels in O and I. From there, we knew O and T were in play, though they weren’t in their correct places. We next opted for “WROTE,” using T and O, plus the vowel E and adding our signature “Wheel of Fortunemethod” consonant R (plus personal fave W). From there, we had O placed properly, plus the addition of R and T, both of which needed to be moved. Because of the combination of unused letters left over, we opted to try out a word beginning with “TH.” Knowing that O (in its correct placement), R and T were in play and that W was out, we knew it wasn’t going to be something like “THROW.” We tried out a few shuffled letters before settling on “THORN” as our third submission. If you didn’t get today’s Wordle answer, you, like every cowboy, may sing a sad, sad song. But don’t worry—there’s always tomorrow!
