Daniella Karagach tested positive overnight for COVID. She is completely asymptomatic and is self-quarantining, but, of course, that means that she will not be able to dance with Joseph Baena on tonight’s show, a spokesperson for the show informed Parade.com. Instead, dance troupe member Alexis Warr will step in and dance with Joseph in Daniella’s place for Elvis Night, performing a Viennese Waltz to the King’s “If I Can Dream.” Everyone who has been in close contact with Daniella, including Joseph has tested negative. Even so, following DWTS’ strict protocols, those considered close contacts to Daniella will be masked on tonight’s show. In addition to being a member of the DWTS dance troupe, 21-year-old Alexis was the winner of So You Think You Can Dance season 17 in August 2022. Alexis is from Highland, Utah. She is trained in ballet, contemporary, hip hop, jazz, tap, gymnastics, and ballroom. Last week, the news broke that DWTS had been hit with multiple cases of COVID-19 following its season 31 debut last Monday, but all four individuals worked in completely different departments and did not have in-person contact with each other. Contract tracing was implemented and no further cases were discovered until Daniella. Dancing with the Stars streams Monday nights at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT on Disney+.
