Thankfully, Wilson shared the moment on social media, putting the picture of the couple side-by-side with a shot from the scene in Elvis. Referencing Hanks’ character’s greedy, business-focused nature, Wilson captioned the post, “Colonel Tom Parker took me to the carnival and we rode the Ferris wheel. He told me he’d split everything from my new album Now & Forever: Duets with me as long as I signed with him exclusively. What do you think?” In the scene in the film, Elvis Presley, played by Austin Butler, says to Parker, “You know, this is something I ain’t never said to nobody before…But I believe I can be great, too.” Parker responds, “Oh, no doubt. But we could be even greater together. But to achieve this, I need to represent you exclusively.” Hanks’ character is a bit of a schemer, taking advantage of a young Elvis. Wilson referenced this in her post, pretending that Parker offered her a similar deal. Many people loved the joke and played along in the comments, with one person writing, “he looks shady,” while fellow actress Dot-Marie Jones warned her, “GET IT ALL IN WRITING RITA!! HAHAHA.” There was also a lot of praise for Hanks’ acting in Elvis from fans under the post. In the post, Wilson also highlighted the upcoming release of her album, Now & Forever: Duets, which comes out on Sept. 27. As reported by Taste of Country, the album will feature hit ’70s songs re-recorded as duets with other famous artists. This includes Van Morrison’s “Crazy Love” with Keith Urban, The Jackson 5’s “I’ll Be There” with Jimmie Allen, and more. Other featured artists include Smokey Robinson, Elvis Costello, and Josh Groban, to name a few. More News:
