A woman suffered a fatal fall from an escalator while attending the country singer’s concert at the Empower Field at Mile High on Saturday, July 30. “I was devastated to learn of the loss of someone after our show,” Chesney, 54, told The Denver Post the following day. “There had been so much joy, so much heart coming from the people of Denver last night—and to hear this is heartbreaking.” According to the report, police believe the incident occurred at the end of the concert. The woman was believed to be sitting on the escalator railing when she fell to the concourse below, sustaining fatal injuries, though they’re not able to confirm at this time how far the woman fell or whether she died on scene or at the hospital. It’s also unclear if alcohol had anything to do with the fall, but foul play is not suspected at this time. “To my understanding, there was none of that, it was just an accidental fall. I don’t think anyone pushed her or anything like that,” police spokesman Nate Magee said in a statement to the local publication. “We extend our deepest sympathies to the woman involved in the tragic incident,” he added. “Life is precious. Sharing music brings us together and that love we share makes us so much more,” Chesney added, before addressing the woman and her family. “For the lady who came to share that love, there are no words. For her friends and family’s loss, I grieve with them and for them.” The woman’s name and age have not been released. More News:
