Who is in the Interview With the Vampire cast?
The cast for Interview With the Vampire consists of some fantasy series vets as well as some newer faces. Here is the cast list so far:
Jacob Anderson as Louis de Pointe du Lac
Jacob Anderson made his name as the fan-favorite character Grey Worm on Game of Thrones. He said his character is a bit different from previous depictions of Louis, explaining to Collider, “I love how much Louis aches in the book. I love that he is mourning his past existence, and our Louis is very much that as well. But I’d say our Louis has a little bit more punch to him. I think he’s more inclined to go at Lestat. Initially, he’s slightly less brooding, but we get there! We get there, but I’d say he’s got a little more bite in him.”
Sam Reid as Lestat de Lioncourt
“For our version of Lestat, what we get to do is go into the subsequent books that the film didn’t get the chance to necessarily do, and we take that second edition that Anne sort of went on with and bring him into our story,” Sam Reid said of his new Lestat. “So he’s a more complex character and you get to learn a bit more about his backstory. Not too much because he keeps his cards to himself, but you understand him a bit more I think.” AMC
Bailey Bass as Claudia
Bailey Bass stars as the forever-young Claudia. AMC “We dive deeper into how much Claudia wants love, not just from Louis and Lestat, but also from other people, to find her companion the way Louis and Lestat have each other,” she said of the role. “She wants that so we dive deeper into that.”
Kalyne Coleman as Grace de Pointe du Lac
Kalyne Coleman plays Grace de Pointe du Lac in her first-ever screen acting credit. AMC
Eric Bogosian as Daniel Molloy
Eric Bogosian said of playing Daniel Molloy, “Me and Daniel, we’re on the same arc. I’m in the same place in my life that Daniel is. And I’ve had my ups and downs, and now I’m a curmudgeon as I become this older character in my real life and it’s kind of like who he is. And for me, that’s actually a challenge. I’ve played some very broad characters in my day and now I’m playing a guy who’s actually kind of driving along the next lane just over from me and it’s interesting.” AMC
Chris Stack as Thomas Anderson
Dana Gourrier as Bricktop Williams
Maura Grace Athari as Antoinette
Paris and Peyton Turner as Grace’s Twins

Is there a trailer for Interview With the Vampire?
There is a full-length trailer for the Interview With the Vampire series. The preview opens with Lestat offering his “dark gift”—a.k.a. being changed into a vampire, and an offer the character is known for making. We see Louis being interviewed by journalist Daniel Malloy about his life (and death) story. We are introduced to New Orleans circa 1910, where the “days are for sleeping off.” An alive Louis meets the undead Lestat and things get sexy before Lestat offers Louis the chance to become a vampire, which ends with Lestat sinking his teeth into Louis’ neck. Louis then struggles to adjust to his new life with Lestat by his side. Claudia is thrown into the mix as she is turned and adopted as a daughter by the duo. Louis and Lestat alternately fight and long for each other and the trailer ends with the bloodied trio walking together.
Is there a remake of Interview With the Vampire?
The new AMC series Interview With the Vampire could be considered a remake of the 1994 movie/a new adaptation of the 1976 Anne Rice novel of the same name. While it appears that the series will cover much of the same story that the 1994 movie did, because it will have more ground to cover with its runtime, it is assumed the series will feature additional stories and arcs.
How many episodes will there be in Interview With the Vampire?
The first season of Interview With the Vampire is set to consist of 8 episodes.
Was Interview With the Vampire supposed to have a sequel?
The 1994 movie Interview With the Vampire did have a movie sequel, 2002’s Queen of the Damned. The sequel featured Stuart Townsend in the role of Lestat (that was previously played by Tom Cruise) as well as the late R&B singer Aaliyah in her last screen performance. Unfortunately, the sequel was not well received. The book, 1976’s Interview With the Vampire is the first in the Anne Rice series known as The Vampire Chronicles and has many sequels released over a 30-year time span. They are The Vampire Lestat (1985), The Queen of the Damned (1988), The Tale of the Body Thief (1992), Memnoch the Devil (1995), The Vampire Armand (1998), Merrick (2000), Blood and Gold (2001), Blackwood Farm (2002), Blood Canticle (2003), Prince Lestat (2014), Prince Lestat and the Realms of Atlantis (2016), and Blood Communion: A Tale of Prince Lestat (2018).
Is Interview With the Vampire a true story?
Interview With the Vampire is not based on a true story, which should be pretty obvious because vampires aren’t real (as far as we know). Author Anne Rice based the full-length novel on a short story she wrote in 1968. However, Rice created the character of Claudia, the five-year-old girl who is turned into a vampire, thus being a child forever, when she was grieving the loss of her own child who had died before her sixth birthday. She has stated that Louis and Lestat do represent her and her husband.
Why is Lestat still alive?
In Interview With the Vampire, Claudia attempts to kill Lestat by first poisoning him with “dead blood,” which vampires are not supposed to drink. She then slits his throat. When he fails to die, Louis burns down their home with Lestat still in it in order to save Claudia. However, the resilient vampire still does not die: Lestat survives by feeding on whatever vermin is nearby, but is barely a shadow of his former self when Louis sees him decades later. It is not clear why Lestat was able to survive all of these murder attempts by Claudia, but we can infer he is an extremely strong vampire as a result. Lestat is alive as long as he has been because he is a vampire and therefore is immortal. (Why did no one try putting a stake through his heart?!)
How old is Lestat?
According to the source novel, Lestat was 20 years old when he was turned into a vampire in France in 1760. Depending on when the AMC series takes place, that would make Lestat around 282 years old, including his time as a human.
What was Lestat’s dark gift?
Lestat offers Louis his “dark gift,” which is his way of referring to being changed into a vampire. Lestat views being a vampire more favorably than Louis does, as Louis still has a conscience and struggles with the bloodlust and killing involved. Therefore, it makes sense that Lestat would think of vampirism in terms of it being a gift.
Do Lestat and Louis end up together?
At the end of the 1994 movie adaptation, Louis and Lestat do not end up together. However, in The Vampire Chronicles, it does appear that Louis is still associated with Lestat by the series’ chronological end, in 2016’s Prince Lestat and the Realms of Atlantis, as Louis is seen on a couch with Lestat when Lestat is crowned Prince of the vampires and acts as his consort. However, whether they are together in a romantic sense at this point is not clear.
How long were Louis and Lestat together?
In the Interview With the Vampire source novel, Louis remains with Lestat for four years after he is initially turned into a vampire before he becomes disillusioned and tries to leave. After Lestat turns Claudia as a way to keep Louis with him, the trio remain together for an additional 65 years before Claudia betrays Lestat. Lestat turned Louis into a vampire in 1791 and the betrayal occurs in 1860, meaning they were together for a total of 69 years. Louis then encounters a barely living Lestat briefly again in the early 1920s. They reunite once again in 1985 after Lestat becomes a rockstar in The Vampire Lestat. From this point on in the novels, the two are in each other’s orbit once again. Next, check out the scariest movies on Hulu right now.
