In the clip, the actor appeared in a classic black tank, chinos and sunglasses as photos flashed across the screen of him showcasing his tattoos and ripped physique. The camera then panned over beautiful tropical scenery while Johnson offered comical directorial comments throughout the duration of the promo snippet. “Was happy to invest our Polynesian culture into SHARK WEEK — as we consider sharks our Aumakua. Gods,” the former wrestling star wrote, adding, “A very special SHARK WEEK kicks off this SUNDAY. This is a MUST SEE.” The televised week of programming celebrating the ocean’s biggest predators—or what islanders refer to as Aumakua—is returning for its 34th year featuring over 20 hours of fresh, original content. According to Discovery, the popular summer event will feature “bigger sharks, bigger breaches, and even bigger findings from global teams of dedicated scientists and researchers in the field.” “Fans can expect 25 adrenaline-inducing original episodes that deliver never-seen footage of walking sharks, awe-inspiring breaches and more shocking predations captured on-camera by dedicated science and research field teams,” the network divulged.
