Duchess Kate always dresses up in green for the ceremony, and yesterday was no exception—she stepped out in a new $4200 wool coat in forest green by Laura Green London. She accessorized with a matching pillbox hat (a style that Kate seems determined to bring back—see the blue pillbox hat she matched to Princess Diana’s sapphires earlier this week), matching shoes and emerald earrings. Pinned to the coat was the gold shamrock brooch that belongs to the Irish Guards and that is loaned out to royal women who have a connection with the regiment. Previous wearers of the brooch include Princess Anne and the Queen Mother. View this post on Instagram

A post shared by Duke and Duchess of Cambridge (@dukeandduchessofcambridge) Kate’s new coat was in one of her favorite styles: military, featuring buttons, epaulettes, a buckled wool belt and a dagger collar. Joining his wife at the regiment’s barracks in Aldershot, Hampshire, wasPrince William, who wore the uniform of a colonel of the Irish Guards. Star of the show as usual was the regiment’s mascot, an Irish wolfhound called Turlough Mór (the previous mascot Domhnall was retired in 2019.)
